Assistant Director of Communications
Joe joined the City Academy family in the summer of 2022. Prior to City Academy, Joe spent five years as the Communications Director at Fr. Tolton Catholic High School in Columbia, MO, where he also taught yearbook and coached boys and girls golf. In 2014, he founded the Day Dreams Foundation in Columbia, a non-profit that worked to eliminate financial barriers to extracurricular activities. In his eight years as President of the organization, they awarded more than $240,000 in scholarships for extracurricular activities to nearly 500 local kids. He jumped at the opportunity to come work at a school with such a like-minded mission.
Joe received his Bachelor of Journalism and a Masters in Public Affairs (Nonprofit Management) from the University of Missouri. He and his wife Ellen have two young children, Cora and James. He enjoys playing golf, bowling, and cheering on the Creighton Bluejays basketball team.
