Parent Engagement Goals & Objectives

  1. Promote active engagement within the school community
  2. Provide families with resources to support student growth both at home and at school
  3. Build a school-wide community committed to the mission and philosophy of the school

City Academy Parent Organization (CAPs)

All parents of City Academy students are automatically members of the City Academy Parent Organization, commonly referred to as CAPs.

CAPs meetings are held throughout the year and all families are encouraged to attend and share in the organization’s responsibilities. Meetings are required for CAP officers (Co-Chairs, Secretary/Treasurer, Development/Fundraiser), volunteer chairs and room parents.

Room parents will work together to accomplish the following:

  2. Decide on specific classroom activity to promote community
  3. Decide on monthly date for birthday celebration
  4. Decide on specific food for celebration and consider food allergy alternatives

New Parent Education Seminars & Parent Engagement Nights

The classes and engagement programs are designed to address the interests of our City Academy parent community. Parents share knowledge that is intended to help guide children to become healthy, proud, and capable people, focusing on effective family communication, healthy culture identify, family values, child growth and development, positive self esteem, and educational progress. Meetings are held weekly, September-December from 5:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. and mandatory for all parents new to City Academy. Childcare will be available for all programs. Catered dinner is provided.
